"Empowering Communities: Artreach's Impact Across the US"

The unique thing about Artreach is that it's not about the Arts.

Let me explain...

The arts are very powerful and can create a bridge of empathy and creativity and empowerment but it's really about the empathy, creativity and empowerment... and inclusion and teamwork and kindness. That's what it's about.

Artreach uses the already powerful impact the arts can make on a life to shower positive virtues and inspire students to create the magic in their own day and make their day be whatever THEY want.

Our recent travels starting at the beginning of March, took us all over the country! From Minnesota to Indiana and everywhere in between.

We were so honored to be able to donate 11 Artreach programs to the growing, thriving and not as thriving communities that we traveled to.

We're pretty proud of our stats!

Artreach was only on the road for 5 weeks and we were able to connect 2913 students to the healing powers of the arts!

Included in those amazing students were 10 special needs adults, 10 currently incarcerated teens, 80 students that are currently going through treatment for behavioral and mental health issues as well as over 1000 students in Title 1 schools.

Can you believe how powerful it was for those students of life to be empowered to step on the stage, to shine in their own spotlight, to receive attention and care to reveal a side of themselves that was so true and to have the opportunity to feel safe in expressing themselves as they are? Let me tell you - it was life changing!

We aren't the only ones who thought it was life changing!!

Artreach was able to partner with amazing organizations to make this all happen. We received numerous grants to participate with these students including a generous grant from the Gogebic Foundation in Ironwood, MI for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness.

We also want to highlight the amazing partnership with the Glen Allen theater in Virginia where Artreach connected with a great audience of a variety of ages including currently incarcerated teens that had the opportunity to express themselves on stage through the arts.

We are so excited about the incredible connections we've made over the last 5 weeks and are thrilled about our Fall tour and reaching so many more!

Another exciting development in the land of Artreach ...

We created a new program!

With the help of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, we designed a new in school time program where we spent 1 week at the Lyceum Theatre and connected with over 750 students during their March semester session.

Artreach was able to do 2 live performances followed by 2 live workshops where the students not only got to see professional touring artists at work but got to participate in creating their own performance piece that consisted of learning a song, a dance, the music for the song and they created a Live Arts Installation that they can take their picture with every time they come back to the Lyceum Theatre! The whole program was based on INCLUSION and sharing the meaning of INCLUSION through the arts.

HERE'S A REALLY FUN VIDEO WE PUT TOGETHER OF OUR TIME IN ARROW ROCK!

WE'RE NOT DONE YET...

Next stop Stuttgart, AR with the help of an incredible grant from the Lennox Foundation for a 1 week multidisciplinary arts camp that ends with a student created performance! We'll keep you posted.

Thank you all for your efforts in helping keep the arts alive and we can't wait to have the opportunity for New Mexico to receive some Artreach LOVE!

Until next time.

Artfully yours,

Lauri
